This Build America Award is bestowed by the Associated General Contractors of America, an association that represents all facets of commercial construction.  Association awards are bestowed to member organizations for outstanding achievement in multiple categories.  For example, one of the most prominent industry awards in the field of film production is the "Oscar" bestowed by The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. 

Likewise, in construction, the Associated General Contractors of America has their Build America Award ... for quality it's the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and for volunteer service, United Way presents The Alexis de Tocqueville Society Award.
