Qualcomm initiated the contact for this project in order to locate a reputable source to complete the design details and produce the piece.  Far from ordinary, this contemporary design would require a unique combination of manufacturing technologies.  Qualcomm was referred to us by a contact in the display industry.  Their design was initially created by their in-house graphic design team. 

The object for them was to honor client companies for excellence in the application of Qualcomm’s cdmA mobil technology at their annual conclave in Las Vegas.  Dubbed the ‘A’ award, we knew the perfect complimentary artisan who could produce this piece with the necessary technology and quality.  We chose R.S. Owens in Chicago who, coincidentally, also are the producers of the “Oscar”.  Today R.S. Owens is one of our key Artisan Partners, featured here.  The Qualcomm project continued from 2002 through 2007 and represented one of our favorite challenges that combined design elegance with manufacturing excellence.
