First, in our initial meeting with this client, there was a general discussion of the importance of safety.  We all understood the inherent danger of skilled craftsman working in industrial manufacturing installations.  The Industrial Services Group of Zachry Industrial, Inc. provides contract maintenance and turn-around construction in chemical, refining, metals processing, refineries and paper mills.  On the surface, in a business context, safe work records are critical in qualifying and maintaining contracts with major industrial client organizations.

So, our challenge was how to pay tribute … to express gratitude to all craftsmen for meeting a rigorous set of safety metrics and training.   Their requirements inspired us to commission an artist to place a heart in the palm of a welder’s glove … resulting in the dual symbolism of life in the hands of skilled craftsmen. 

The resulting theme “The Heart of Zachry” is today a copyrighted program that now has been in place for ten years.  To qualify for this annual tribute is an esteemed honor.  The luncheon celebrations, attended by key executives and the Group president, are legendary.  And the bottom line?  Pride and respect.  Pride in the accomplishment and respect for the company leadership who gives meaningful credit where deserved
